there's a place in my hometown, where i used to spend most of the time as a teenager. imagine a little town, which after the peripheral houses faded into a countryside made of meadows and trails, up to the next (little) town. when i escaped from my parent's house, there i went for long walks. almost at each corner something would come to my mind, me as a child driving his bycicle like mad as i did, or a pretty girl living in the house i could see from there.
on christmas day i was in my hometown with my friend ant, and it was almost midday when we approached the river. and there, in front of us, something was happening. for some days of the year in winter, in fact, just before midday the sun hides behind the mountain. it's quite strange because you wouldn't expect such a thing at that hour ;)

while we were approaching that mountain, the meadows around us were completely icy and there was also a little fog.

however, the scenery was somehow magic. some wild meadows would look like crafted gardens with sophisticated icy flowers.

as we approached the river, i started to feel cold. now we were near the big mountain, and on the other side of the river the sun disappears more than a couple of days. again the white flowers on the bank seemed so different in their white clothes, and the river was evaporating water as to make fun of the big mountain's shadow.

it was past midday and christmas lunch claimed for us, when eventually the sun came, bringing back its warm colours.
